About Tess
Tess’ love for art started at an early age. She developed her drawing skills in Primary School, and in Grade 1 was awarded a Highly Commended prize in the Royal Melbourne Show for a painting titled, ‘My Mother’. What was so special about that award was that Tess could not speak or understand English at the time having just immigrated from Poland in 1961. And Tess kept drawing.
Many years later, after selling her floristry business and moving to Melbourne, Tess commenced professional art classes at the Malvern Art Society and Brighton Art Society, and studied under teachers such as Judy Goldspink (watercolour), and Manfred Horn (acrylic). When not in class, Tess spent every spare moment studying art books, and attending workshops with great Victorian artists such as John Pastoriza-Pino, Peter Smales, Linda Macauley, and Terry Napier.
One of her favourite Art Galleries is Tweed Regional Gallery, and favourite artists are Georgia O’Keefe, Tamara Lempicka, Deborah Shapiro, Margaret Olley, Ray Austin-Crook, Tom Roberts, Hans Heysen, Ellis Rohen - the Impressionists of course!
Using an array of media, Tess adores the everchanging possibilities using light, texture & colour with brush, hands or tools to create beautiful joyful pieces of art - taking an evocative piece from her heart onto canvas to tell a story.
Tess now lives on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and works from her home studio.

Art Classes
For those interested in Mixed Media or Acrylics, we offer introductory classes designed for those who have never picked up a paint brush before, through to those in the early stages of their love for art.
Welcoming between six and twelve students, each two and a half hour class is fun, friendly and supportive. Classes for the first four weeks include all paints and canvases. After four weeks, you’ll just need to bring your own canvas.
Cancellation Policy
To allow us to make best use of everyone’s valuable time, please give us 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your booking. We will then be able to give you a full refund.
Cancellations within 48 hours will incur a cancellation fee of $40.
